Hehe. Get it? Oh-May-goodness....oh-my-goodness. So cheesy. Well oh-may-goodness...May is here! Somebody needs to come over here, give me a good pinch on the arm, and convince me that this is actually happening. Today was my last day of college class ever. I awkwardly turned to the sophomore girl next to me at the end of class and said, "So I never have to go to class again...yay." Oh and one of my English professors gave me a high five as I walked out the door. That was pretty awesome. Other than that, it was surprisingly uneventful. It just sort of ended. Done. No more class or lectures. Well ok then! Haha. I can't believe it. I still have three final exams to take and then graduation is on May 12th! I have so many emotions right now. I could get super sappy and love-filled in this post...but I think I will save that for next week. After graduation, I can finally get psyched for....
Also, I am working on a meet-up day in London so we can all get together and say hello! So many of you have emailed me asking to meet up for tea or a bit of knitting, so I thought I would try to get as many of us together all at once. I'm still working on the details but hopefully I will have a plan soon! I just can't wait!!
Even though class is over...I still have three big hurdles to jump until I can officially say goodbye to college. It's time to hit the books again! :)
Happy May everyone! I think my quiet knitter life is about to get very exciting...

Congrats M!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the moment!

ReplyDeleteCongrats! I was where you are only a few years ago. This is an exciting time. Cherish it :)
ReplyDeleteIn Paris you should visit Lil Weasel (http://lilweasel.fr), it's the nicest yarn store in town!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you want to try a French stitch'n'bitch while you're there, there is a meetup on a boat every second tuesday of the month.
Good luck for your final exams!
Thank you so much for the yarn store suggestion and invitation! :-)
DeleteOhhh a London meet up! Fantastic idea, I'm based in Ireland and I'd nearly fly over to join in for a cuppa tea! You will love London and Paris, I've been there several times. For London, make sure you take in a West End Show, I saw the Wizard of Oz in February and it was amazing! Check out Covent Garden and all the quirky shops and you have to, simply have to visit the shop Liberty! Just google it! Its fantastic! As for Paris, have some macaroons, be warned they are €1.50 EACH (about $3) and of course see the view from the top of the Eifel Tower, drink some nice coffee (tea is not their thing) in a hip cafe and watch the chic parisians stroll by!! Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy....I'm hoping to get stateside once more by the end of the year!
ReplyDeleteOoh! Thank you so much for the tips Rebecca!
DeleteO la la, how exciting!
ReplyDeleteMy only tip would would to wander off the main streets to see what's going on in the side strees. And the food is better and cheaper :-) And do have Crepe Nutella on the street somewhere - we had in in the Latin Quarter>
And DO make some time for LIBERTY in London! Ah I want to go there again.
And enjoy every moment, and post us your graduation outfit ;-)
Liberty of London!! I can't wait!
DeleteThank you! :-)

ReplyDeleteI really think you're a great person.
I've been living in Paris for some months and I had to tell you that EVERYTHING in Paris is awesome! But I think each place has its own moment :) I always recommend a walk through "Le Marché Beauvau" and a long one by "La Seine" :)
If you need some help or want to know anything else, you can write me and I will be pleased to tell you all I know about Paris :D
Sorry for my english.

I have many interesting adresses in Paris, we went a year ago and stay there for a entirely week and it was amazing! I recommend you the "Passages couverts", a route with some little stores, you can find antique things and "Pain d'épices", a craft and toys shop I love! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the adventure! :D
Thank you so much Teresa!

If you want to go to a classical music concert in London, St Martin in the Fields (in trafalgar square) have free lunchtime concerts on a monday, tuesday and friday at 1pm. Really recomend it (its my happy place)Also there is a great cafe called 'drink shop do' near kings cross where you can look at crafts and have cocktails! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about Drink, Shop, Do. I can't wait to see it for myself! :)
DeleteThank you!

On my last day I was expecting fireworks or something. When that didn't happen I triumphantly threw out all my books in the garbage. And then I pulled them back out because who am I kidding? I keep all my notes, haha.
ReplyDeleteIn London go to Borough Market...the most amazing food market, it's next to London Bridge station. It's closed earlier in the week and on Sundays, so try Wednesday -Saturday. Also, Soho is great for little coffee shops and cafes, I recommend Mildred's on Lexington Street, a lovely vegetarian restaurant.
ReplyDeleteAnd you must go to a market...Portobello, Broadway, Spitalfields or Brick Lane!
Have fun!
x
Oh thank you so much for these tips! I am SO excited!!
DeleteCongratulations! You should be so excited. Super exciting that you are coming to the UK soon as well. If you can try and see a west end show. They are amazing! Well done on being nearly finished!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that London map? It is beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteI got it from Barnes & Noble I think, in the travel section. It is so cool because it is waterproof and won't tear!
DeleteWhoop whoop so exciting! I hope I can come along to the London meet up - let's just hope the weather picks up for it!
ReplyDeleteI didn't read through the comments so maybe someone else already said this but you MUST go to Deyrolle in Paris. It is so amazing!!! Plus it's walking distance from the Louvre so you could potentially do those the same day (I did).
ReplyDeleteHey Meredith!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find your travel dates for your trip, could you tell me? I am from Australia and am going to Europe at the end of this month. I'm starting in England and would love to come along to your meet! I am a terrible knitter but managed an Australian tea store so I think we may have that in common!
Thanks!
Em
EEEEp two days to go for you! I bet you are so excited, congratulations! Also very exciting is the prospect of a big meet in London, such a good idea! I've seen that some have already advised this already, but I feel like I should reiterate that you should definitely hit Brick Lane for markets and vintage shops galore - you would love it! Good luck for graduation :) x Rachel
